Biden Puts America’s Kids Last
A glaring double standard in vaccination policies not only erodes the credibility of our public health system but also jeopardizes the safety of American children. Many Americans residing away from the southern border seem oblivious to the potential dangers posed by the ongoing illegal immigration crisis. While they may perceive it as a national security concern or foresee implications for the economy and electoral integrity, few recognize the tangible impact it could have on their own families. The immigration crisis, above all, poses a direct threat to the daily health and safety of our children.
The evident hypocrisy lies in our nation’s childhood vaccination policies. American children are required to receive vaccinations for school attendance, participation in community organizations, and sports. Some states enforce a strict “no shots, no school” policy, which disregards religious exemptions and mandates vaccination fulfillment before school enrollment.
The disconcerting truth is that the Biden administration appears more focused on the well-being of illegal immigrants than that of American citizens and our children. Contrary to stringent health requirements for American children, illegal immigrant children and “unaccompanied minors” crossing the southern border are not subjected to the same standards. For instance, in New York City, “migrants living in temporary shelters don’t need vaccinations to initially enroll in public school.” While the city claims there is a designated timeframe for obtaining vaccines after enrollment, enforcement may be as lax as our current immigration laws.
With a surge of illegal immigrant children inundating our communities and straining our social infrastructure, there is uncertainty about who will ensure timely vaccinations and what consequences they will face if neglected. This double standard not only undermines public health but also poses substantial risks to the safety and well-being of American children.
Compounding the issue is the alarming rise in demand on emergency rooms and hospitals across the United States due to migrants seeking treatment for diseases previously eradicated, such as polio, whooping cough, tetanus, and measles/mumps/rubella. These once-third-world concerns now threaten the health and safety of American youth.
The influx of “unaccompanied minors” illegally crossing the border raises concerns beyond health issues. Not all these individuals are innocent children seeking refuge; many are members of dangerous gangs exploiting their perceived vulnerability to gain easier access to our country. These predominantly young men bring not only the risk of criminal activity but also the potential for spreading violence and instability in our communities.
Amid the existing law-and-order crisis, particularly in cities with an influx of illegal immigrants, the impact on community safety is alarming. Instances of violent criminals being released back into our communities after arrest only intensify these concerns. Will there be any consequences for such individuals?
As parents, it is our solemn duty to prioritize the safety and well-being of our children amid the escalating border crisis. The apparent lack of concern from the Biden administration for the safety of American citizens and children, while prioritizing the needs of illegal immigrants, necessitates a self-protective stance. We must demand accountability from our elected representatives and replace them with leaders committed to putting the interests of American citizens first. Our lives and families depend on it, and we deserve nothing less.
