Voting Rights For Illegal Aliens
It’s decision time, and Congress isn’t waiting until November to tackle the issue of noncitizen voting. American voters must step up before the balance tips irreversibly against us.
Senator Dick Durbin and his Senate Democratic colleagues have urged President Joe Biden to swiftly provide legal status to over 10 million undocumented immigrants who have entered the country since 2021.
Anyone dismissing the threat of noncitizen voting is either ignorant or dishonest.
Durbin, a prominent figure within the Democratic Party, is making a bold statement on immigration policy ahead of the 2024 elections. As the majority whip and a long-serving senator from a reliably blue state like Illinois, Durbin is in a position to advocate for far-reaching measures without political repercussions. His recent letter outlines the party’s stance on immigration, setting the tone for the upcoming electoral cycle.
Already, states are facing obstacles in accessing federal databases for tracking migrants, hindering efforts to verify voter registration and citizenship status.
Furthermore, the mandatory linkage between federal social service programs and voter registration is resulting in the enrollment of millions of newcomers, potentially including noncitizens.
Durbin’s letter could pave the way for executive action, such as an amnesty and citizenship grant through an executive order.
His demands include rapid legal status for undocumented immigrants, funded by U.S. taxpayers, and full citizenship rights, including voting privileges. This unilateral action would fundamentally alter America without input from its citizens.
Given the alignment of the presidency and the Senate, along with a slim majority in the House, coupled with worsening border conditions and federal tolerance of lawlessness, the stakes are too high for voters to remain silent.
It’s imperative to hold elected officials accountable. Demand clarity on their stance regarding Durbin’s extreme proposals. Demand access to federal data for efficient citizenship verification. These actions can be taken before the November elections, but there’s no time to waste.
In 2024, election integrity isn’t merely an issue; it’s the paramount concern. Americans must engage, voice their concerns, and demand decisive leadership to safeguard the integrity of the electoral process and, by extension, the future of the nation.
